More Tips on getting ingredients
This page is for Australians or New Zealanders who are puzzled about getting the suggested
powders in this country.
1. Shiitake mushrooms can be bought dried and powdered yourself. You may
be able to get them at your local supermarket. If not, a good
health food store or herbalist should be able to help. Alternatively you can
buy the shiitake and reishi mushroom tablet made by Mediherb®. Get
this from a good health food store or herbalist.
2. Kelp powder or tablets are readily available from a good health
food store or herbalist. One brand is "Blooms", www.blooms.com.au.
3. Fenugreek is a culinary herb from the supermarket (or a reliable health
food store). Try buying organic whole fenugreek and powdering it in a
liquidizer.
4. Whey protein isolate is often "practitioner only" in my
experience. Get from a good health food store that has a naturopath.
If you really want to you can email me a message giving me the following information
and I will probably be able to give you my practitioner code to order the isolate direct from
www.fit.net.au.
FIT sell two products with whey protein isolate in, "Whey Factors®"
(Bioceutical® range) and "Isowhey®" (Pharmafoods®
range).
Information needed (Note: I will do my best to keep emails
confidential but I cannot guarantee this. Once received the email will be
printed then deleted from the computer. It will be kept with other medical
files as a hard copy with the usual security. If you are not happy to email
information you can fax it to 02-6662 5633 or post to

5. Cartilage products, chondroitin and glucosamine are readily available from chemists, health food stores,
supermarkets etc. If you want to you can email me as per point "4"
above so you can use my practitioner code to get chondroitin and glucosamine
powder direct from www.fit.net.au.
Their
powder contains some minerals and other additives too. It is called
"Chondrosamine Joint Food Supplement" and is part of the Pharmafoods®
range.
See also below under
"taste issues". The
"Chondrosamine Joint Food Supplement" contains 20%
chondroitin/glucosamine, which is a little less than is present in pure shark
cartilage powder.
6. Vegecaps (vegetable capsules made from cellulose) are available from good health food stores and over the 'net
from www.vitaminsaustralia.com.au
(as the "Hilda Herbs" vegecap).
Taste Issues
I have recently decided, until
further notice, to enjoy a more tastier recipe by using more of the
"Chondrosamine Joint Food Supplement" which has a powerful orange
flavour added to it. I put my tsp of the glycopowder in the glass, then I add
in an additional tsp of the
"Chondrosamine Joint Food Supplement" and then pour on the soy milk
and let it sit for awhile. It tastes YUMMY to me.
