When you read this book, you will see the sequence of events leading up to Jesus’s return as outlined by the Bible and the writings of Ellen G. White. This will show you that end-time events are already beginning to happen.

Therefore, we must clearly understand the seriousness of our times. The closing events have already begun and have started to fulfill the last end-time prophecies, which indicate that we are living at the very end of the final generation.

"Silver Spring, Maryland, USA…[ANN] ("Adventist News Network") Seventh-day Adventist Church leaders reacted today, May 18, to the recommendation of a joint Anglican-Roman Catholic International Commission that the Pope be recognized as "the universal primate"

"The publication of the ARCIC (Anglican-Roman Catholic International Commission) III report entitled: "The Gift of Authority" includes multiple references to the Bishop of Rome and his identification in terms of universal primacy, or leader of all churches." This recommendation says: "Within his (the pope’s) wider ministry, the Bishop of Rome offers a specific ministry concerning the discernment of truth, as an expression of universal primacy," says the report.

For an easier understanding of justification by faith, the ‘Book Two’ is divided into two parts. The first part presents true justification. The second part presents false justification. This is in order that the readers know what is true justification by faith, and what is false, so that they are able to intelligently choose the true.

When you finish reading the ‘Book Two’, then you will clearly understand how to be saved, what the true gospel is, and what is true justification by faith?

It would be helpful to use the charts from these books as overheads to illustrate the lectures. And also use a special important video entitled: "Prophecy and the New Times" for chapters 1 - 4. (See page 21, reference 108).

Second option, take under consideration all of the chapters and draw the most important information from them.
Then you will know how many sessions would be necessary to cover the material which you have selected. It would be helpful to use the charts from these books as overheads to illustrate the lectures. These seminars would be organized to function for a few Sabbaths and would be run by the local pastor or leading elder or some other nominated church member.

At the conclusion of these seminars they should:

First: Organize revival prayer groups in the church. This is very important because "a revival need be expected only in answer to prayer" (1SM 121).

Second: These three books could be sold to each participant for his further personal study.

If we are going to run revival seminars, we must remember not to concentrate on the crisis but on Christ. In this statement there are two ideas: (1) Are our thoughts on the crisis or (2) on Christ. If our thoughts are on the crisis then we will concentrate on ourselves. We become self-centered. We think only about ourselves, because we are afraid of the crisis. This creates in our minds, and hearts, fear. Therefore, all our actions are motivated by fear.

But if we concentrate on Jesus, what He has done for us, His love, mercy, goodness, grace, power and a living loving relationship with Him. Then the practice of His presence with us, based on His promise: "I am with you always, even unto the end of the world" (Matt. 28:20, KJV), will create a great trust in Him and our total dependence on Him in every situation of our lives. Because our center is Jesus and His everlasting love. Then we are concerned for those for whom Christ died, and we will be working for their salvation because all our actions are motivated by love of God. The Holy Scripture says: "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear" (1John 4:18, NKJV).

Naturally we must be aware that we are all standing before the impending crisis. God through the Spirit of Prophecy says: "A great crisis awaits the people of God. A crisis awaits the world. The most momentous struggle of all the ages is just before us" ( Testimonies, vol. 5, p. 711). But we must remember not to concentrate on the crisis but on the solution to the crisis - Jesus Christ - He is the only one who delivers us from the crisis.

The pen of inspiration answers: "There is an emotional excitement, a mingling of the true with the false, that is well adapted to mislead. Yet none need be deceived....Wherever men neglect the testimony of the Bible, turning away from those plain, soul-testing truths which require self-denial and renunciation of the world, there we may be sure that God’s blessing is not bestowed....The nature and the importance of the law of God have been, to a great extent, lost sight of" (GC464,465). These are the symptoms of false revival.

God wants to finish His work through us in the world now, but first He wants to finish His work in us, both as a church and as individuals. The important question is:

The Spirit of Prophecy gives us the answer: "I have been deeply impressed by scenes that have recently passed before me in the night season. There seemed to be a great movement - a work of revival - going forward in many places. Our people were moving into line, responding to God's call. My brethren, the Lord is speaking to us, shall we not hear His voice?" (Testimony Treasures, Vol. 3, p. 441).

Again the pen of inspiration gives us the answer: "Before the final visitation of God's judgments upon the earth there will be among the people of the Lord such a revival of primitive godliness as has not been witnessed since apostolic times. The Spirit and power of God will be poured out upon His children." (The Great Controversy, p. 464).

Another quotation says: "God calls for a spiritual revival and a spiritual reformation. Unless this takes place, those who are lukewarm will continue to grow more abhorrent to the Lord, until He will refuse to acknowledge them as His children" (1 Selected Messages, p. 128)

The above two quotations are prophetic statements. The first tells us when this last great revival of primitive godliness will take place. The answer is: "Before the final visitation of God’s judgments upon the earth." (GC 464). This means just before the close of probation and the seven last plagues.

The first part of book one (chapters 1 to 9) will show us that we are living a short time "before the final visitation of God’s judgments upon the earth."

The second quotation says: "God calls for a spiritual revival and a spiritual reformation." (1SM 128). The important question is:

The Spirit of Prophecy gives us the answer: "When we as a people understand what this book (Revelation) means to us, there will be seen among us a great revival" (TM 113).

This is why the first nine chapters of ‘Book One’ are devoted to a close study of the books of Revelation and Daniel, the last end-time prophecies.

The pen of inspiration also says: "When the books of Daniel and Revelation are better understood, believers will have an entirely different religious experience…‘Revelation’ means that something of importance is revealed. The truths of this book (Revelation) are addressed to those living in these last days….The Lord will bless all who will seek humbly and meekly to understand that which is revealed in the Revelation…. We are nearing the time when the prophecies of the book of Revelation are to be fulfilled…. As we near the close of this world's history, the prophecies relating to the last days especially demand our study" (TM 113-116).

We as God’s end-time people have come to the time for the last great revival and reformation that must take place in our church. This will prepare us for the great outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the latter rain which will enable us to finish God’s work in our time. "Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts" (Zech. 4:6,NKJV).

But what is the bottom line which will bring God’s power in the latter rain?

It is the spiritual revival and its resultant reformation which will bring the pouring out of God’s power in the latter rain - for the proclamation of the everlasting gospel in the context of the Three Angel’s Messages to finish God’s work in the world. This is the revival and reformation of life which each one of us must have in order to pass triumphantly through the time of trouble and welcome the Lord with great joy. This is the experience which will permit us to be prepared to live with God and with Jesus throughout eternity.

As you see in order to be ready for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ we must experience the last great revival and reformation, which is a call to genuine, total conversion and receiving the Holy Spirit in the early rain, through which we will possess the character of our Saviour, His righteousness, His life, His Spirit, His love - reformation of life. This will prepare us:

First: To receive the great outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the latter rain, which will enable us to finish God’s work in the world.

Second: To be ready for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

From this we can clearly see: how extremely important it is that we as God’s end-time people must experience the last great revival and reformation now.

Therefore, Romans 13:11, contains an urgent message for the church - for you and for me. We read: "And that knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep". This is God’s message to us today.

The first Pentecost (the early rain) gave the power to begin to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world. Analogically, the second Pentecost (the latter rain) will give the power to finish proclaiming the gospel in the world in these end times. There remains another very important question to answer. This will sum up what we are talking about. What are the CONDITIONS for receiving the great outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the latter rain? The pen of inspiration answers: "The great outpouring of the Spirit of God, which lightens the whole earth with His glory, will not come until we have an enlightened people, that know by experience what it means to be laborers together with God. When we have entire, wholehearted consecration to the service of Christ, God will recognize the fact by an outpouring of His Spirit without measure; but this will not be while the largest portion of the church are not laborers together with God" (Christian Service, p. 253). From this important statement we clearly see the conditions of receiving the Holy Spirit in the latter rain. They are:

First: "an enlightened people".

Second: they "know by experience what it means to be laborers together with God."

Third: they are "entirely consecrated to the service of Christ."

Fourth: the Holy Spirit "will not be" received "while the largest portion of the church are not laborers together with God." These conditions will be fulfilled when revival seminars will run throughout the church together with the revival prayer groups. This will "enlighten" our people and lead them to "entire consecration to the service of Jesus Christ." It will teach them how to become "laborers together with God." Then "God will recognize the fact by an outpouring of His Spirit without measure." Then God will finish His work through His people in the world in our day. This is the purpose, goal and reason for the existence of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the world today.

We must clearly understand that we are now individually, as well as the church as whole, entering into the last great revival and reformation ("a revival of primitive godliness"), and also at the same time we are entering into the last great shaking. Therefore, in the final analysis among God’s people there will be only two groups:

First: Those who accept the timely message ("the straight testimony") will be led to experience the last great revival and reformation ("a revival of primitive godliness"), and be prepared to receive the great outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the latter rain.
Second: Those who reject the timely message ("the straight truth") will be led to experience the last great shaking in the church. They will be shaken out.

The Spirit of Prophecy confirms this: "I asked the meaning of the shaking I had seen and was shown that it would be caused by the straight testimony called forth by the counsel of the True Witness to the Laodiceans. This will have its effect upon the heart of the receiver, and will lead him to exalt the standard and pour forth the straight truth. Some will not bear this straight testimony. They will rise up against it, and this is what will cause a shaking among God’s people."⁷

In this way God can now finish His work in the church. In other words, through the last great revival and reformation ("a revival of primitive godliness"), and also at the same time, through the last great shaking, God will finish His work in the church. And those who experience the last great revival and reformation, will receive the great outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the latter rain, to empower them in order that God will finish His work through them in the world. This is the purpose, goal and reason for the existence of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the world today, and also this is the aim of these three books, entitled: "GREAT CONTROVERSY ENDGAME."

Therefore, the aim of these three books is to show the readers in a practical way how this last great revival and reformation, the great outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the latter rain, the readiness for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and finishing of God's work will be accomplished. In this way God first will finish His work in His church and then He will finish His work through His people in the world, now.

Then we will go home to praise Him who loved us and gave Himself for us; this is the earnest prayer of the author.
