Appendix Three: Other
Expositors of Bible Prophecy Who Identified the Horn With Eyes and a Mouth of
Daniel Chapter Seven as the Papacy.
Bible prophecy in Revelation and Daniel contains several references to the character and work of the Papacy. Here is a partial list of other (please first make sure you have read the study on Daniel Chapter Seven in 4. Revelation 14:7b - The hour of His judgment is come) expositors of Bible Prophecy who identified the horn with eyes and a mouth of Daniel Seven as the Papacy. The references are from the book The Prophetic Faith of Our Fathers, by Le Roy E. Froom, (Review and Herald, Washington DC, 1950). The book is particularly helpful because if you look up the references, you will usually find that the original sources are directly quoted. In this book the horn with eyes and a mouth is usually referred to as the "Little Horn".

Footnotes
2. Luther's 1521 exposition identified this horn as the papacy. Later, however, he referred to it as being the Turks. This is probably because of the political situation of the time. Western Christianity was in great danger of being overwhelmed by the Ottoman Turks.
3. Associate of Tyndale.
